Reseña

As a result of a research exploration that integrates the intersectional approach with urban studies, this book expands the debate on the notion of intersectionality— originated in feminist theories—by addressing it from the territorial scope of spontaneous settlements. Based on a case study in Cali (Colombia), this book analyzes intersectional categories that inquire not only about individuals
but also about communities and their relationship with the place they inhabit as a basis to formulate and implement comprehensive habitat upgrading processes in accordance with local realities, with an emphasis on urban territorial peacebuilding. This process employs a methodological framework that combines quantitative and qualitative methods, tested through broad community participation. Memory building, intersectional mapping, community data collection using mobile devices, child and youth participation through play, and participatory design are some of the tools explored in this work focused on promoting the right to the city.
