The book GUILLERMO QUEVEDO ZORNOZA. Brief notes on his life and works, is a product of the labor carried out by the teaching team of the music program attached to the UDECARTE group within the framework of the research project: The musical production of the teacher Guillermo Quevedo Zornoza. Brief biographical and musical reconstruction. The first chapter presents the biography of the master Quevedo and reflections on the impact of his work and his contributions to Zipaquirá and the training of Gabriel García Márquez. In a second section, the context in which his work is framed is reviewed, emphasizing nationalism, to give way in a third chapter the general description of his work and an in-depth look of his vocal music and for the scene. As a fourth section, the analysis of six pieces is carried out based on the description of the context of the pasillo and bambuco in Colombia and ends with the chapter dedicated to a collection of 12 pasillos for piano (11 unpublished) that were taken from the manuscripts (and one of the only printed version available) and digitized to generate a complete collection that shows the composer's thought and work. It also includes a short analysis and general information about the collection. The absence of written academic material about the master Quevedo and his music make this book a fundamental piece for the dissemination and recognition of the musician and of the cultural identity of the region and the department.
