Conversation clubs are used by various academic institutions, among them the Unidad Central del Valle del Cauca, to strengthen the communicative competence, focusing on speaking and listening, of their students.
"Let's make it easy" takes these and proposes an orientation guide for teachers in charge of developing them, seeking to be a tool that enhances their teaching process, understanding the nature of the club outside of a regular foreign language class and focusing on the role of teachers as facilitators. This guide takes educators through the key concepts of a conversation club, the pedagogical model, method, approach, strategies and resources useful for the development of conversation clubs, as well as providing learning objectives to work on in each of the sessions. Likewise, it offers assessment models to be considered according to the population that attends these spaces, also making a special emphasis on planning, stating the importance of establishing specific learning objectives, leaving a room for the observations that teachers may have on the development of the club, an essential part of a self-assessment. In addition to this, it proposes that the teaching community should consider reflection as an essential part of their work, being vital that this is done in community, so that each experience serves to grow and strengthen the teaching process and the development of the clubs.
