For over forty years, photographer Fernando Cano has traveled the country in a quest to decipher places, people, details and rituals that comprise the fabric of an entire nation with his camera. If we take a detailed look at this series of images and stop to examine their framing, the use of black and white and their qualities of light and shadow, we will find that some exhibit a sculptural approach and others, a more pictorial one, keen to show a use of the language of sketching. The way in which we have built the landscape of Colombia together with its people starts to come together in the stories that lay behind these precise images that reflect exact moments in time.
