Secularism is the model prompting church and state to remain separate and mutually independet. Colombia is a secular state as that is how the Constitutional Court has stablished it, and therefore cannot identify with or favour any denomination. In spite of that, 26 years after the 1991 Constitution, secularism in Colombia is yet to be genuinely achieved.
