The author of this book has a degree in medicine and graduated with a PgDip from Brazil's São Paulo State University (Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho or UNESP) after completing a PgDip in toxinology at the Center for the Study of Venoms and Venomous Animals (Centro de Estudos de Venenos e Animais Peçonhentos or CEVAP). He began working as a qualified doctor over 15 years ago in the city of Leticia in the Republic of Colombia. He has published articles in medical journals and has published a reference book on the types of medical treatment available in incidents involving poisonous and venomous animals.
