This third edition of the Cerlalc–IBBY Catalogue of Children’s Books for Sustainable Development presents a curated selection of 53 children’s titles from thirteen Latin American countries, each addressing key aspects of the 2030 Agenda—particularly Sustainable Development Goals 5 (Gender Equality) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
More than a simple compilation, the publication offers an analytical framework that explores the region’s social challenges, highlights the power of children’s literature to foster inclusion and equity, and provides educators, librarians, and mediators with a meaningful tool to promote critical and reflective reading. Through diverse artistic and literary approaches, the catalogue invites young readers to imagine and build a more just, democratic, and sustainable society.
