The aim of this book is to offer an updated complement to the previous five books. It includes topics relevant to this industry, such as traits of modern chickens, animal welfare, impact of nutrition on the quality of processed chicken, rendering process to reduce operating expenses, maintenance with an “against the current” managerial mindset, etc. The new chapters have been written by renowned international experts.
This publication includes the English version to enable the non-Spanish-speaking community to study it in their preferred language. As always, the conceptual part is explained first, followed by the practical application in this thriving broiler chicken business. The aim is to uncover effective solutions to address the costly challenges —problems— that affect the quality, safety, and yield of chickens, as well as their profitability.
We trust that the ambitious topics explored and developed thoroughly in this book will surpass your expectations.
Finally, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the friends and colleagues who chose to embark on this unprecedented journey with me. And equally to the great team in charge of the design, layout, proofreading, and translation of this work.
Best regards,
EDUARDO CERVANTES LÓPEZ
